New Members

The Warren are a terrific group of people who’ve been performing pantomimes and musical shows since 1949. As you will see our profits are donated to charity – mostly local charities.

Look around our website and you can find out lots more about our history and the charities we have supported over the years.

We’re always looking for new talent to join us – singers, actors, dancers, musicians or back stage (scenery, costumes etc).

We perform a pantomime every January and an original musical show every May – currently we perform our pantomimes and shows at the Wyllyotts Theatre in Potters Bar.

We rehearse at Lyonsdown Hall in East Barnet from 7.45pm-10pm every Tuesday from early September-January for our pantomime – and from January-May for our musical show. There are also a few Sunday rehearsals.

Members are expected to be at rehearsals every Tuesday and Sundays when required. For show weeks members must be available every evening for rehearsals/performances and arrive no later than one hour prior to performance times.

Panto week runs Monday-Sunday with rehearsals from 7pm-10.30pm Monday-Wednesday, evening performances at 7.30pm Thursday-Saturday and matinee performances on Saturday at 2.30pm and Sunday at 11am and 3pm. Show week is the same but at 19.45 and without the Sunday performances.

Members are encouraged to do all they can to promote and sell tickets to their friends and family.

You will be provided with scripts by email. Costumes and make up are provided for you as required.

Joining The Warren is not just about being onstage. We regularly cater at boot sales, hold quiz nights, car rallies and other social events. As members we would expect you to spare some time to get involved in these projects.

Our annual subscription fee is £60 for adults and £25 for under-18s. New members must be aged 13 or over.

If you’d like to come and meet us with a view to joining The Warren please email us and we’ll get straight back to you.

What it means to be part of The Warren

Being part of The Warren is about way more than just being on stage. It’s about being part of a family, a slightly dysfunctional family who dress up, sing and dance to entertain but also who are there for each other. We pull together to raise money for charity whilst supporting one another – Sam, current President.

I would like to think that The Warren helped me from falling into a rather depressed state after my sepsis & pneumonia illness 18 months ago. The forthcoming pantomime at the time encouraged me to pick up the bass guitar again (no pun intended) and together with my very supportive family got me back on the road to recovery – Bernie, bass player

The Warren has enabled me to still enjoy one of the big loves of my life, MUSIC. Although I am in my seventies, being in the Warren Band allows me to still play Rock n Roll as well as other types of music. At the same time working with lots of great people and I am also raising money for various charities – thank you WARREN – Jeff, guitar player

I love that people of any and all ages come together to have fun and create something special and we all support each other – Jo, current member

Being a member of The Warren is amazing. Not only do we get to perform on stage, raise money for charity and entertain we also gain a family. We support each other not just in The Warren but also in life. It’s very special – Michelle, current member

Being part of The Warren is very special to me. It’s how I met my husband and it’s something we do together and now that our children are older they can be involved too. Fun and light relief from the crazy world we live in – Susan, current member

The Warren has been a huge part of our lives. We have made so many friends over the years and our family have also made long standing friends from being in the Warren. Can’t imagine what life would be like without it. – Angela, current member
